Vernal Falls — Yosemite National Park

The Merced River thunders over 317-foot Vernal Falls in Yosemite National Park in California. Before being changed to "Vernal" (related to spring) , the local name of the falls was Yan-o-pah which mean "little cloud." At their height in the spring, the falls throw off clouds of mist and spray, making the Mist trail alongside the falls very slippery.
